The Ant and the Grasshopper A grasshopper was cheerfully jumping around, chirping, and singing. Then an ant passed by, busy pulling a grain of corn to his nest. The grasshopper laughed at him. .***e, stop working. The sun is shining brightly. The field is gull of things to eat. Let's sing and be merry." But, the ant went on, going back again and again, carrying food into his house. Several weeks later, the rain began to pour heavily for days. The grasshopper was dying of hunger, for he had no food. The ant, however, had no problem. He had plenty of food. Morale Lesson: "Save for a rainy day." World's Best-Loved Stories for Children (Aesop's Fables) Edited by: Rodolfo C.
