Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi is suspected of not yet honoring the donation she had garnered for victims of the 2008 Szechuan earthquake during her fundraising activities at the Cannes Film Festival that same year. A friend of Zhangs fiancee Vivi Nevo, had reportedly set up the Zhang Ziyi Foundation on her behalf in the United States to conduct fundraising activities for the earthquake victims. Citing.****rmation from Nevos close friend in Hong Kong, Chinese media reports alleged that the Foundations donation funds, earmarked for the Chinese Red Cross Foundation of at least $2 million, were channelled into Zhangs personal overseas account and remained there for almost 20 months after her fundraising efforts at the film festival. Local authority has difficult in investigating this case partially because Zhang Ziyi raised funds for victims of the 2008 Szdchuan earthquake in France and U.S.A. Now this case has drawn vast majority of Chinese puyblic attentions who are expecting Zhang ziyi to expose her account financial statements. Without judicial intervention it seems that there is a faint hope.
